I recently sent some sweet clients to Italy for their first time! I truly feel like Italy is one of those places you could visit again and again and not run of out things to do and see, however for a first visit I always recommend hitting the main sights! My customized Europe trip planning makes trips across the pond stress free and enjoyable. We work together to create the perfect itinerary and I recommend hotels, tours and places of interest and can also handle your transfers and train tickets! I visit Europe often and love to use my expertise to help clients experience all the amazing things it has to offer! These clients had about 12 days and we knew the main places they wanted to see. I wanted to share their itinerary along with some tours we planned!
Day 1-3 Venice!
They started their trip flying DFW to Venice. I often suggest doing an open jaw ticket for Europe trips (flying into one city and out of another) as it really cuts down on travel time! When they arrived in Venice, we had a private water taxi waiting for them to take them to their hotel! I love private transfers when you first arrive in Europe because you are jet lagged and exhausted and it’s not the best time to try and navigate public transportation! Their Venice hotel was absolutely gorgeous and their room had the most amazing canal view! The rooftop patio is a hidden gem at this hotel and the perfect place for an after dinner cocktail to watch the sunset! We only did 2 nights in Venice as I feel you don’t need quite as much time here as some other cities. On Day 2 they did a “Venice in a Day Tour” to really get a feel for the city and an overview of the sites!
Day 4-6 Florence
Day 4 started out with a train ride to Florence! I absolutely love Florence not only for the sights within the city itself but also for its proximity to some true Italy gems! Can you say Tuscany?! Their Florence hotel was truly one of the most adorable and quirky hotels I’ve come across and full of Italian charm. While in Florence they took a vespa tour into Tuscany which ended with dinner at a chateau. They also had a day to explore all the sights of Florence on their own.
Day 7-9 Rome
After leaving Rome, they took a quick train ride and arrived in Rome! I always say that Rome is the number one city to visit on your first time in Europe. There is truly just SO much to see and so much history! They checked into their five star hotel, complete with a rooftop bar and incredible views from their room. This hotel is for sure one of my favorites in Rome and a place I always recommend! While in Rome they took a private Colosseum tour and a guided tour of the Vatican, ate some amazing pasta and enjoyed lots of gelato!
Day 10-12 Positano
After a week in the cities, I knew they would be ready for some down time so it was time for the Amalfi Coast! They took the train from Rome to Naples and were greeted by their private transport at the Naples train station which took them to Positano! Their hotel here had views for days and a private hot tub on the balcony with the most beautiful view! While in the Amalfi Coast they spend a day at a luxury beach club and also took a private boat tour to the Island of Capri. They flew home from Naples so did have to worry about getting back to Rome or Venice to catch their flight. So much time saved!
